A small group of alumni, friends and supporters of Burke Catholic in the community, and school administrative staff presently make up the Board of Directors for the school’s Educational Foundation.  Working closely with the Principal, the Foundation’s primary purpose is to solicit, receive, manage, and distribute funds in support of the school’s academic, sports, arts, and extra-curricular programs, but outside the regular school budget process which is managed through the Archdiocese.  There is an obvious important role for the Foundation in the immediate future, now that 30+ acres of land adjacent to the existing property has been acquired and a multi-phase, multi-million dollar capital plan is being developed to expand into numerous new sports fields and facilities, and an Arts Center with auditorium/theatre that is long overdue and desperately needed.  Alumni and Friends are needed for additional participation in all that is happening, either as a Foundation board member or just as an interested participant in the Foundation’s activities. 

The Burke Eagles Educational Foundation, Inc. is a corporation as defined in subparagraph (a)(5) of Section 102 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law, and is a Type B corporation under Section 201 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law. Because the Foundation is organized exclusively for the purposes specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
