Director of Campus Ministries: Mr. Stephen Yates

John S. Burke Catholic is a community that lives in the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As such, each member of the community answers the baptismal call to minister to others in the school community and in the world.

The Office of Campus Ministries coordinates efforts to foster the spiritual development of the students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, benefactors and friends of Burke Catholic so that they might better proclaim the Gospel to the world. The quest for a true Catholic Christian community is supported, nourished and worked toward by the Office of Campus Ministries in cooperation with the Religion Department. Opportunities for liturgical and para-liturgical celebrations, celebration of the sacraments, prayer, retreats service work, and other spiritual development activities will be offered. All students, as part of the school community, will show respect during these activities, and are encouraged to participate as fully as possible.

All students are required to participate in the school retreat program. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are required to attend a one day retreat program coordinated through the school each year. Seniors are responsible to choose a retreat program in which to participate before graduation. Seniors are encouraged to attend the KAIROS retreat, but may choose another over night retreat program as long as it is approved by the Office of Campus Ministries.
