STUDENT RE-REGISTRATION PROCESS

The re-registration process for current students is completed each year. Students who are not returning to Burke Catholic must present a letter from their parents indicating this information.

GENERAL POLICIES FOR ACADEMICS

  1. Any student who fails three or more subjects in any school year may be asked to transfer to another school.
  2. A student may not return to Burke Catholic with any course failures on his or her record from the previous year. A student who fails a course must re-take the course in summer school and achieve a passing grade, regardless of whether he or she has passed the Regents exam.
  3. Failure to attend summer school or to re-take a failed Regents exam neccessary for graduation will be cause for dismissal.
  4. A student who fails a Regents exam must re-take it in the summer. In preparation for re-taking the Regents exam, the student must either enroll in summer school or re-take the course or, if offered, take the tutorial course offered at Burke Catholic during the summer.
  5. Failures must be made up in an accredited summer school. DO NOT make vacation plans until you receive the final report card. Family vacation is not an acceptable excuse for not attending summer school.
