Class of ‘70 holds reunion, donates back to Burke Catholic

On July 31st, the class of ‘70 came back to Burke Catholic for a tour of the school, and a mass celebrated by Msgr. Byrnes. Two current Burke Catholic students gave tours and alumni who haven’t been back in a while were able to see all the updates and plans for the future of Burke Catholic.

Eileen Duffy and Nanelle Napp were instrumental in planning such a successful event, and the class generously donated $500 to Burke Catholic, for which we are very grateful.

The party continued on at John’s Harvest Inn.

PowerSchool Access & Schedules

We currently have PowerSchool access deactivated and will reactivate it at the start of school in September. At that time all new passwords will be distributed to new students and last year’s passwords will resume working again.

Also, our mailing stated in error that a schedule would be enclosed in the letter when it wasn’t. This year the schedules will be given on the first day of school. Next year they will be mailed home as usual. We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience because we know how nice it is to check the schedule before the start of school.

Hole-In-One Earns Burke Catholic Alum Trip to Vegas

Jim Smith, ‘06, who has played golf for only two years, recorded his first hole-in-one in a Liberty Indian Booster Club outing at Swan Lake Golf & Country Club three weeks ago. His prize - a three-day, two-night stay at the Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and two free rounds of golf.

Smith’s ace came on the par-3, 148-yard 11th hole. He was the last member of his foursome to tee off. No one had come close to the flag. Smith’s ball took two bounces on the green and rolled straight toward the hole, which was set in the back center.

Congratulations Jim!!

Timothy J. Sweitzer Memorial Soccer & Poker Games

On August 21st friends, family and alumni came together to raise money for the Timothy J. Sweitzer Memorial Foundation. The weather was spectacular and they raised $4,000 for the foundation.
