Course Selections 2010-2011

For more than 36 years, Labels for Education has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal.

You can earn educational products for our school two easy ways.

First, you can go online to www.elabelsforeducation.com and register your supermarket card. Then, every time you shop at your favorite supermarket, and purchase any eligible Labels for Education products, total points earned will be credited to your school’s Labels for Education account automatically.

Second, if you don’t have a supermarket card, every time you purchase eligible Campbell products save the UPC’s (not the whole label) and bottle caps from eligible products. Send them in attention Louise Valenti/Labels for Education.

Congratulations to Coach Doug Janeczko and the entire Burke Catholic Basketball team!

In our continuing effort to beautify our school chapel, we hope to purchase frontals (decorative material which cover the front of the altar) in each of the liturgical colors (white, green, red and violet). Each frontal will cost $2000 and can be memorialized for any person, living or deceased and the name of the person, as well as the donor, will be placed on our chapel donors plaque located in the chapel. Please contact Msgr. Byrnes (jbyrnes@burkecatholic.org) if you would be interested in donating one of the frontals in honor/memory of a loved one.

Additionally, we are looking to place a statue of the Blessed Mother in each of our classrooms, and these can be memorialized as well. Each statue costs  $200 and a memorial plaque will be placed on the base of each statue. Contact Msgr. Byrnes if you are interested in donating a statue.

John S. Burke Catholic High School is holding a used clothing and other household item drive April 12th  until April 18th.  The following items will be accepted in a well tied plastic garbage bag:

Usable and wearable clothing (men’s, women’s and children’s) for all seasons

Shoes/sneakers (must be bagged separate from other goods)

Pocketbooks, backpacks, briefcases, suitcases

Belts, hats, gloves, scarves, ties

Baby accessories made of fabric

Blankets, bed sheets, pillows, quilts, comforters

Kitchen and bath accessories made of fabric

Table cloths, drapery, curtains, towels

Stuffed animals

Toy cars, trucks, airplanes, action figures

Dolls and doll houses

(Hard toys should fit in a 23”x24”x21” box)

 Collected items will be sent to underprivileged countries.

 This is a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning. Please let your relatives and neighbors know as they are welcome to donate as well.

 Donations are to be dropped off at the front entrance of the school anytime during the week or on Saturday, April 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
